Hello,
JRW Case lives in Denver, Colorado. His latest book, Cycyling Through Columbine (Bottom Dog Press, 2022), combines travelogue and memoir with a dash of true crime drama to create an inspiring story about the changing dynamics within an ordinary family who lived, worked, and played near the epicenter of a very public massacre. Twenty years after Columbine, the author takes off on a midlife escape across America on a touring bicycle, and finds himself metabolizing his memories of the event and its aftermath to the rhythms of a moving bicycle. The pedaling began in earnest during the summers of 2017 and 2018.
My Work
In the tradition of Joseph’s Campbell’s work with the heroes’ journey, Robert’s latest book, Cycling Through Columbine, is by turns powerful and poignant, harrowing and heartfelt. The author also offers a 50-minute keynote or workshop on the same theme: Wings, Guns, & Coming of Age in America, in which he celebrates the power of resilience, the importance of keeping ones dreams alive, and the pursuit of happiness while balanced on the seat of a bicycle. His public speaking experience includes practicing law in Jefferson County, Colorado for over twenty years with a JD from the University of Denver (1988). Formal education includes MS (Geology) U of Utah, BS (Geology) Allegheny College, and a Certificate of Improvisation from the Bovine School of Improv, located in Denver, Colorado.
